Coming soon to this blog…

Yup, I am a little behind the eight ball because school is winding down and there has been much to do between that and soccer. Pictures will be posted soon.

In the mean time here is Lois’s dessert:

Strawberry Angel Dessert
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
¾ C cold water
½ C sugar
1 package (10 oz) frozen sliced strawberries (or fresh)
1 carton (8 oz) frozen light whipped topping, thawed
5 Cups angel food cake cubes
1 tsp almond flavoring
Fresh strawberries and mint, optional

In a saucepan, combine gelatin and cold water; let stand 5 minutes to soften. Stir over low heat just until gelatin dissolves. Remove from the heat; add sugar. Stir until dissolved. Add almond flavoring. Stir in undrained strawberries. Chill until partially thickened. Fold in whipped topping. Place cake cubes in a mixing bowl; pour strawberry mixture over cake and mix gently. Pour into an ungreased 8-in square baking dish. Chill until firm. Garnish with strawberries and mint if desired.
Yield: 9 servings. Note: May double recipe and use 9X13-in pan.

And I think we were waiting for another dessert recipe from the table.

  1. Here is the other receipe that Marlene had on the table

    .Easy Raspberry Trifle

1 pkg. Betty Crocker white angel food cake mix
    1 1/4 c. cold H2O/ pkg. directions
    2 c. boiling H2O
1 pkg.(8 serving size) raspberry flavored gelatin
2 pkgs.(10 oz.) frozen sweetened raspberries, thawed
2-3 containers (6 oz. ea.) Yoplait Original red raspberry yogurt

Bake & cool cake as directed. Tear cake into pieces. Pour boiling H2O on gelatin in a large bowl; stir until dissolved.
Add raspberries. Refrigerate gelatin mixture until thickened, but not set. Layer half each of the cake pieces, gelatin mixture & yogurt in a 3 qt. glass bowl; repeat.
    Refrigerate @ least 2 hrs. 16 servings.

I actually mixed an angel food & yellow cake mix, then made small portions in microwave(another recipe). My guess is this recipe came off the back of the Angel Food cake box.
    Good Luck,
